Join over 60 Speakers from 17 countries at the 9th Conference of the European Society for Periodical Research (ESPRit):

14-17 June 2021 – Online Conference with live sessions & keynotes
11 June 2021 Postgraduate Workshop
1-13 June 2021 – Watch & Comment at the conference website

The conference seeks to examine periodicals from the 18th to the 21th century within markets and their respective sociocultural, economic, and legal frameworks. The Victorian period is a special focus of the conference. Two main areas will be explored: economies of time and space, i.e., spatiotemporal aspects of the production, distribution, and reception of periodicals and similar serialized formats, and facets of competition and transfer between periodicals within localised and regional as well as international markets. For this purpose, the conference looks at periodicals as agents that react to sociocultural space configurations while simultaneously participating in their nascency, formation, appearance, and perpetual transformation.

Anyone can join in for FREE from anywhere: Registration is now open! Please visit www.rub.de/esprit2021 for the programme and more information and follow us on Twitter @2021Esprit for updates. Looking forward to seeing you at the virtual conference.
