David, Solomon, Hezikiah and Josiah, by Morris & Co.. This window is in the north aisle of Richard Norman Shaw's All Saints, Leek, and dates to some time after 1937: it is dedicated to the memory of "James Heath the builder of this church and of his wife Ann, their daughter Harriet Elsie Smith and her husband John Cambell Smith 1937." Most of the figures look like designs from Edward Burne-Jones. Indeed, here is the Hezekiah figure as Isaiah in St Mary the Virgin, Merton, in a window dedicated in 1907. His stained-glass cartoons continued to be used by the Morris company long after his death, but the first on the left, David with his fresh, rounder face and short swept-back hair, does not match other more winsome Davids of his, and is more likely to be by a later artist, perhaps Henry Dearle, who was the chief designer at Morris & Co. at this time.
