Nativity Window

John Hardman & Co

1884-89

Apse, Holy Trinity, LLandudno

North Wales

This is the first in the series of five double lancets in the apse of the church, commemorating members of the Thursby family. They follow a narrative sequence, depicting the birth, childhood and boyhood of Jesus: the nativity, the coming of the Magi, the presentation in the Temple, Jesus teaching in the Temple, and Jesus in the carpenter's shop. On the furthest left, this one commemorate James Leigh Thursby, with the Nativity scene above the familiar text, "She brought forth her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddlimg clothes." Jacob and David are shown in the roundels above the dedication.
