Jesus Dies Upon the Cross, the twelfth Station of the Cross. Designed by John Standen Adkins, assistant to the architect James Brooks, at St John the Baptist Church, Holland Road, Kensington, London. This is another particularly beautiful one, because of the colours — the brilliant, patterned robe of Mary of Magdalene, who kneels in the foreground, with her long golden hair flowing over her shoulders, and Mary in blue and white. St John the Evangelist watches prayerfully. Note the white flowers in the background, too. The plaque below the mosaic reads, "In Memoriam Frances Perry," perhaps indicating that it was among the earlier mosaics here, since the first, which was dated 1891, was in memory of Dora Perry.
