James Brooks, at St John the Baptist Church, Holland Road, Kensington, London. This is another lovely one, because of the two Marys, Mary Magdalene bending over and supporting Jesus's head, and the Virgin Mary holding Jesus's arm. The plaque below the mosaic reads, "Gift through Private Communions," so it is impossible to date precisely. The crown of thorns has been removed, and a vase of precious ointment stands beside St John, near Jesus's feet, brought to anoint the body.
