W.H.Rogers

1856

Dark blue cloth with a gilt design

7 x 5¼ inches

Another rare book, this work by Rogers presents a military iconography, the visual signs of the anthology’s celebration of bravery; anchor and sword are crossed, meeting in a cavalry-man’s helmet. These symbolic elements are surrounded by an abstracted tendril. The artist’s monogram is at the bottom of the gilt design.
