Another of the medallion portraits of the princes and princess of the royal family which crown the tarsia panels of the nave, this shows Albert and Victoria's sixth child and fourth daughter, Louise. [Click on the image to enlarge it. Commentary continues below.]

The Triqueti Marbles

Louise was herself a budding sculptor, and studied with Durant. She also studied with Sir Joseph Edgar Boehm, who completed Triqueti's work in the chapel, and there were rumours that their relationship was a closer one that of master/pupil. She was in his studio with Boehm when he died unexpectedly.
