Sir Edward Harland

Sir Edward Harland

Sir Thomas Brock (1847-1922)

Stone

Belfast

Sir Edward James Harland was Belfast's leading shipbuilder, and his Harland and Wolff cranes, which were used in the construction of the Olympic, Britannic, and Titanic, still dominate the Belfast skyline.

In May 2009 John Sankey CMG PhD, who wrote his dissertation on the sculptor, identified this work as Brock's. Many thanks!
