"Queen Victoria, abundantly attended by fashionably dressed ladies, took the special train from Slough to Paddington Station on the Great Western Railway line, the whole journey having taken a mere 25 minutes (time of arrival being 12:25 P. M.). Her subsequent trip by four-horse carriage (brought from the Royal Mews at Pimlico) from the station and through the London streets to Buckingham Palace, in company with Prince Albert, took half-an-hour."
