Hansom is as Hansom Does?
Engraving
Fun (22 July 1865): 98
This illustration accompanies an article in the form of a letter to the editor supposedly written by “A Furious Fogey,” which complains the time has vanished “when we men had the exclusive enjoyment (?) of Hansoms, But such is the enterprising nature of the female mind in these days that some audacious woman made the discovery that they are more pleasant and expeditious than the common cab” with the result that even his “sister and her eldest daughter” — whom he’s striking out of his will — take them. [The question mark after “enjoyment” is in the original.]
