Little Tom Spriggins (returning to the wife of his bosom at 3 a.m.): — “Let’s see, half-a-crown, ain’t it, Cabby?!”

Cabby: — “Half-a-crown! No, it ain’t, it’s height-na-six. Look alive, for I’m subject to convulsions, and let out straight from the shoulder; so if yer don’t want me to be had up for manslaughter, fork out!”
