Exhibited: Edinburgh, Royal Scottish Academy, 1867 (396) There is a small version of this painting in the Tate Gallery, London, presented by Bell Scott's friend and patroness, Miss Alice Boyd of Penkill Castle.
A cartoon for the right hand section of this painting, as well as an etched version by Scott of the painting is in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada.
