Despite the obvious condition problems and it having been painted in Surrey this work is very much in the Etruscan School tradition. Sheep are shown grazing on scrubby vegetation with a row of trees in the background. A solitary standing female figure is present in the mid-background, possibly picking berries from a bush. — Dennis T. Lanigan
