A Welsh Farmer. George Cockram (1861-1950). 1880s. Watercolour heightened with bodycolour; 11 ½ x 19 ¼ inches. Reproduced courtesy of the Maas Gallery. Click on image to enlarge it.

As this watercolour has lost its original frame and label, the scene depicted is unidentified. In 1892, Cockram was living near Conway (he first gives a Rhosnegir address in the Royal Cambrian Academy catalogue of 1894, which opened in May). — Charles Nugent
