In contrast to Martin’s Hades, this anonymous design offers a cheerful version of ancient times, with the Plesiosaur cruising sedately against a rising sun, the symbol of primal beginnings. The neck is characteristically far too long in defiance of the fossil record, and the snaggle-toothed head is more comedic than predatory. Plate 3. Steel-etching. 8 x 6½ inches.
