Christ in the Carpenter's Shop by Nathaniel Westlake (1833-1921), 1890, in St Augustine, Highgate, London. The photograph on the right shows the top part of the central light, obscured in the larger photograph by the sacristy lamp.
This lovely window is in the Lady Chapel, the interior of which was designed by Henry Wilson and Christopher Whall. It shows the young Jesus actively engaged with carpentry under the guidance of Joseph, with Mary looking thoughtful, the scriptures open on her lap, and St Anne, the matriarch of the Holy Family, in the background. According to the inscription, it was the gift of "the children of the parish." [Click on the images to enlarge them].
