St Peter's Church, Bournemouth, a two-light window designed by Ninian Comper and installed in 1915 (as recorded in the Bournemouth Guardian of 16 January 1915; see Eberhard). According to the inscription on the window itself, it is in memory of Harry Crumpler (1873-1913). Both bright and tender, with architectural and foliate framing, it is a perfect example of Comper's art. He has signed it in the righthand corner with his wild strawberry device. Three examples of the many other Annunciation windows, in churches and cathedrals all over the country by acclaimed artists, are listed below.
