This can be seen as the third in the sequence of three windows in the chancel walls in memory of Mary Elisabeth Bateson de Yarburgh, who died in 1884. They run from the nativity, to the three Marys at the tomb, and now to this appearance of the risen Jesus to Mary Magdalene — the "Noli me Tangere" scene. This is the least crowded of the three, with a clearer background, except that on the left, in the middle distance, is the empty tomb with to angels in front of it. The windows make an attractive tribute to the Mary (of the Yarbrugh family) who has died.
