Spring
Georgie Gaskin
Engraving by an unknown engraver

Encircled and enfolded by daisies, a little girl in an old-fashioned dress is studying the first letters of the alphabet from an equally old-fashioned horn-book. She becomes a perfect symbol both of the season and of innocence. This is the first of Gaskin's four very attractive Arts and Crafts designs here, based on the seasons.
