Designs for the Home
"A larger part of Gimson’s production — more than 20 known schemes = was ecclesiastical. All involved collaboration with other architects who had either built a new church or were supervising repairs to an old one, and Gimson’s role was that of a contractor supplying goods, though he was given considerable freedom of design. He developed a style of church fittings in wood and metal that was closely related to his domestic furniture, although it occasionally incorporated figurative carving of a type he never otherwise used." — Carruthers et al. 234
