Cloth binding for ‘Lyra Americana’

1865

Green cloth gilt

7 x 4 ¾ inches

A small but imposing riff on the traditions of the mandorla design by an unknown hand. The Gothic motif announces the text’s pious offering of hymns by alluding to medieval church architecture, making it a suitable shelf-companion for the Bible and prayer-books.
