Brisk Young Wife: — “Now then, Leonard, hurry up! Here’s a vacant First-Class Carriage. Are you going to stand there all night, gaping like an idiot?”

Sorely-tried Husband: — No, My Darkling, certainly not. You get in with your Ma. I intend going Third-class with the Srevants, It’s cheaper; and — er — I really require a few hours’ repose.”

The pun on train presents us with yet another version of a henpecked husband, but the cartoon is most interesting, perhaps, for its detailed depiction of clothing worn for train travel. Note the railway guard in the background on the right.
