This scratchbuilt rectangular water tank is closely based on the drawings and dimensions found in the 1888 builder's handbook, which explains that these structures are suited to placed where the craftsmen necessary for creating the more usual round water tanks are found. The three stone bases are bridge piers. The spout was created from two sheets of very thin styrene sheet. The pulleys come from an HO Brownhoist Crane kit. and the complex framing that holds the spout mechanism is modeled upon the one in the BTS round watertank. [Click on images to enlarge them.]
