Topsy and Ned Jones, settled on the Settle in Red Lion Square. Max Beerbohm. 1922. Rossetti and His Circle, Plate 6. 6 ½ x 4 ¼ inches. Click on image to enlarge it.

This picture, which depicts the two close friends, William Morris (Topsy) Edward Burne-Jones, in one of the medieval- or renaissance-revival pieces of furniture on which they collaborated, follows rather closely on the delightful caricatures of which Burne-Jones was a master — a suprising side of an artist noted for his paintings of idealized love.
