Christ walking on water

Designer: Charles Hardgrave

Maker: James Powell & Sons

South Transept (lower left), Romsey Abbey, Hampshire

1902

Like the one next to it, of Christ commissioning Peter, this was installed in memory of Georgiana, Baroness Mount-Temple, who, according to the inscription, died in 1901. Orders for the south transept windows can be found in the Powell Order Book (e.g. "2-1l, S trans 9114/351"), but it is not clear from this entry that they were designed by Hardgrave.
