Jesus is Stripped of His Garments, the tenth Station of the Cross. Designed by John Standen Adkins, assistant to the architect James Brooks, at St John the Baptist Church, Holland Road, Kensington, London. The plaque below the mosaic reads, "Gift of Mary Elizabeth Spencer 1891," which indicates that it was one of the earliest to be installed. The hammer and nails for the crucifixion lie ready in the foreground while the humiliating procedure takes place.
