The glass and iron-framed Floral Hall, with its "highly enriched cast-iron decoration" (Burnett and Blissett), stands just to the south of the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, and was completed soon after it. Also designed by Barry, this time for the theatre's management, it opened in 1860. It is very much in keeping with, and perhaps outshines, the other glass and iron structures in nearby Covent Garden Market.
