Il me plaît aujour-d'hui de détourner mes yeux et mes pas de cette enceinte sacrée des druides, transformée en abattoir, et où la main qui bénit est aussi la main qui égorge. J'ai besoin de respirer un air moins chargé des parfums ou plûtot des fétidités du sacrifice. Là-haut, sur cette colline, dont un soleil couchant éclaire les cimes blondes, je respirerai plus à l'aise. [51-52]
