Grangemouth Docks, Falkirk, Scotland. c. 1910. Grangemouth had been established as a port in the eighteenth century, and was acquired by the Caledonian Railway in 1867. The docks served industries in Lanarkshire and the east of Scotland, importing goods such as timber, iron ore and oil, and exporting coal and steel. [Click on image to enlarge it.]
