Figure of an infantryman on the Llanharan war memorial. William Willingale Taylor (1851-1935). Originally dedicated in 1934. Portland stone. Mid-Glamorgan, Taff-ely. This is rather a grand memorial with a paved area in front and flagpoles either side. It is an advance on the earlier Monmouth memorial, with the soldier in a less wooden pose, with less elaboration of his accoutrements, and with his rifle turned down.
