According to Mapping the Practice and Profession of Sculpture, He was “one of ten children. He was the son of Alfred Pegram (born c.1837 in Strand, London), a cabinet maker and who was a brother of Henry Pegram, father of the sculptor, Henry Alfred Pegram. Studied at the Royal Academy Schools.”
