Monument to James Jeremie (d. 1851, 77 years old old) by Edward M. Richardson (1812-69). 1853. Marble. Town Church, St. Peter Port, Guernsey. According to the Mapping Sculpture site, “Richardson entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1832 on the recommendation of Sir Francis Chantrey. His practice centred on funerary monuments and he executed a number of military memorials. Richardson was an active member of the London and Middlesex Archaeological Society. He published a number of papers on archaeological subjects and presented papers on English medieval alabaster sculpture to the Archaeological Institute. He died in Brighton.”
