Allegorical figure for a building
Francis Derwent Wood, R.A. (1871-1926)
c. 1899
Plaster [?]
The Studio 16 (1899): 46.
This work of architectural sculpture, which apparently belongs with the figures for Industry, Locomotive Transit, and Steamship Transit also illustrated in The Studio, has as its attribute a winged staff with what might to be a serpent curled around it — thus making it represent medicine.
