Tuke was a very prolific artist, and the Tate has a number of his sketchbooks with watercolours and pencil drawings of ships, buildings, and various sitters, both male and female. The gallery's archive also holds a scrapbook with an embroidered cover, assembled by his sister Barbara, who married a Major K. F. C. Marshall. Along with his sketches, it contains "three loose watercolours of ships, brief notes from Tuke, a photograph of Tuke sailing his yacht, the 'Flamingo' and a postcard from Tuke to Major K.F.C. Marshall wishing him a Happy New Year" (Tate Archive).
