Autumn in a Welsh Glen. George Cockram (1861-1950). 1880s. Watercolour; signed with the artist's label. 11 x 15 ¾ inches. Reproduced courtesy of the Maas Gallery. Click on image to enlarge it.

The artist's label (detached) reads 'Autumn in a Welsh Glen. / George Cockram R.C.A. / The Dunes, / Rhosneigr / Anglesey. / £9.9.0'. Although it cannot be conclusively proved that this watercolour is the one exhibited in 1905, it is the only occasion that Cockram exhibited a picture with this title and this price. The address and the style of the signature do not contradict the suggested date. — Charles Nugent
