Kathryn Stockton received her Ph. D. from Brown University in 1987 and is Associate Professor, University of Utah. Stockton, who wrote many of the first materials in the Victorian Web on feminism and literary theory, is the author of Between their Lips, a book on feminist approaches to Victorian literature, and Beautiful Bottom, Beautiful Shame: Where "Black" Meets "Queer", and she has essays or chapters in the following volumes: Feminism and Modernism (1994), Aesthetic Subjects (2003), The Material Queer (1996), Novel Gazing: Queer Readings in Fiction (1997), Other Sisterhoods: Literary Theory and U. S. Women of Color (1998), and Regarding Sedgwick: Essays on Queer Culture and Critical Theory 2002).
