Southwell Workhouse
This photograph shows part of the men's work yard at Southwell workhouse. The gate (right of photo) separates the men's work yard from that of the women. On the ground floor of the facing range was the schoolroom; above that on the first and second floors were the children's dormitories.
The ground floor rooms on the left range of the building comprised the clerk's room, the men's staircase and the able-bodied men's day room.
