1882 [?]
Albumen Photograph
Source: Frontispiece, Works, XXXIV.
The Editors of the Library Edition give the year as 1882 on the frontispiece, but the list of illustrations calls it "Ruskin at His Desk, 1883" (xxi).
According to Jeremy Maas, Barraud, a noted portrait photographer, had "studios in London and Liverpool, where he took cabinet photographs of many famous Victorian statesmen, artists, and members of the aristocracy. Many of these were published in his two volume work, Men and Women of the Day, 1888-89" (26).
