Christ as Crucified High Priest

This unusual design conflates type and antitype, Aaron, the High Priest and brother of Moses, who anticipates and is fulfilled and completed by Jesus Christ. Aaron is identified by the chest covering of precious jewels he wore while sacrificing animals to procure forgive for the sins of the Israelites.
