The Ascension

John Henry Dearle, 1859-1932

Manufacturer: Morris and Co.

Probably 1907 (see Pevsner 169)

South aisle of St Edward the Confessor, Leek, Staffordshire

This lovely window shows Jesus rising up to heaven with angels on either side, while the disciples look upward from the ground in wonder. As inscribed at the bottom of the window, it was installed in memory of Thomas and Catherine Whittles, and of Thomas and Henry Edward, their sons.
