Sideboard by Baron Marochetti

Sideboard

Baron Marochetti

Made by Snell of London

1852

Wood and glass

Although this is dated 1852 in the New York Digital Gallery, it may have been one of Marochetti's exhibits for the Great Exhibition, because listed in the offical catalogue for the exhibition is "a sideboard, with glass, and an oval cistern: the designs and models for the sculpture by Baron Marochetti (p.746). The manufacturer is given as Snell & Co, 27 Albemarle Street. The address, off Piccadilly, is a very good one.
