Sculpture on West Front, St Vitus Cathedral in the Hrad [Larger image of sculpture]. Prague, Czech Republic. Cathedral dates fron eleventh century onward; West front (1885-1904), designed by Joseph Mocker (1835-1899). After Joseph Mocker died, another architect, Kamil Hilbert, continued his design for the West Front, and work went on well into the twentieth century. The sculptor Vojtech Sucharda worked on the carving in the 1920s, and the rose window was designed by Frontisek Kysela in 1925-27.
