Bradley and Pevsner comment that the 1980 demolition of part of the building preserved “the remarkably secular-looking front, which faces s[outh] down Half Moon Street. It might be the entrance to a prosperous insurance company,” adding that the cornice, tower, and frieze attempt to imitate Wren's churches, but the result is “more massive and less articulate” (485).
