The celebrated engineer, the late Isambard Brunel, being anxious to form a Shakespearian Gallery, deputed the first artists of the day to paint subjects illustrating various scenes from the works of our famous dramatist. . . . The Leicester Gallery has been fortunate enough to secure two of this series — "Launce and His Dog," from the Two Gentlemen of Verona, by A. L. Egg, R.A., and "Macbeth and the Witches," by clarkson Stanfield, R.A. The former, an excellent example of Egg's work. [46]
