Monument for Michael Cheese (d. 1816) by Sir Richard Westmacott, RA. Marble. St. John's Church, Calcutta, India. A high relief depicting the good Samaritan dominates this monument to “the surgeon on the honorable company's Bengal establishment and garrison suurgeon of Fort William,” and at the top appear the words from Luke 10:34: “And he set him upon his own beast.”
