Projet pour les Busses de Florence et Alice Campbell
Baron Henri de Triqueti
Patinated plaster
1855
La Musée Girodet, Montargis, France
Thanks to his various visits to England, and to his marriage to Julia Forster in 1834, Triqueti received many commissions from the British, from such connoisseurs and patrons of the arts as Lord Lansdowne and Lord Ellesemere. This was especially so after the French royalists fled to Britain after the 1848 Revolution, and he became a favourite of the British royal family. These two young sisters against a trelliswork background are clearly in the very bloom of youth.
