Henry John Rope Triptych designed by Ellen Mary Rope (1855-1934). Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK. The triptych was presented to the Salop Infirmary (a predecessor hospital to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital) following the death of Henry John Rope FRCS in 1899. In his obituary in the British Medical Journal he was described as follows: "In Shrewsbury he was almost worshipped for his goodness and for his kindness to the poor, for he was the ideal surgeon."

The figures in the right panel appear in a 4 1/8-inch diameter glazed pottery piece Rope designed for Della Robbia Pottery and which appeared in an edition of approximately 100.
