Memorial to Captain Sir John Hawley Glover
Carlo Panati (1850-1935)
1887
Marble
The Crypt, St. Paul's Cathedral
City of London
Carlo Panati, who had an address in Cadogan Terrace in 1887, exhibited twice at the Royal Academy. The unveiling on 28 January 1887 was a grand affair, and, according to the next day's Times, the bust was felt to be a "striking likeness" (11). This bust is listed as one of the sculptor's principal works in the Italian Wikipedia.
