Edward Bulwer-Lytton Memorial. Bronze. Monument by Sir Alfred Gilbert, post-1891, in cast bronze and marble. St. Paul's Cathedral, London.

The St Paul's Collections site describes the relief as showing: “two women, one with winged headdress and holding a censer, bearing a portrait head of a man in a ornamented frame which is surrounded by the smoke of the censer. Below is a winged child wearing an elaborate helmet, his hand placed on a casket. In a black marble panel below is the memorial inscription painted in gilt lettering; the whole is in a green striated marble frame.” [Click on these images to enlarge them.]
