Ceramic umbrella stand/large vase, 17" tall, 9" diameter and almost 2" in thickness, depicting Harry Bates's "Homer" — "a blind old man and poor, sweetest he sings" of 1886. An interesting item, at the very least attesting to Bates's popularity. Presumably a copy for household use. Unsigned, with no maker's mark.
